Russia- geography and nature

Before going on a Russia tour you’ll surely be interested in geography and nature of the county.

Russia is located on the eastern part of Europe and eastern part of Asia& Total area of Russia is 17 075, 5 thousand square kilometers. Russia is a really big country, which has all the natural resources needed for the development of the country. The western part of Russia is occupied by the eastern European Plain, then come the Ural mountain chain, behind which Western Siberian Plain is located.

Russia is a country which has a lot of mountains that are spread in different parts of the country. The highest peak is Elbrus which is located in Caucasus. Along the Pacific Ocean coast of Far East spread the mountains of Kamchatka Peninsula as well as the Kuril Islands with active volcanoes. There are many opportunities for interesting Russian ecotours.

There are also a lot of rivers in Russia that are spread throughout the country. They are- Ob, Yenisei, Don and many others. These rivers play e very important role in the life of the country.

The climate in Russia is very diverse as the country is big. Various climatic zones are represented there, such as subarctic zones, subtropical zone and others. It is always very cold in winters and hot in summers. The temperature in winter in Siberia may reach -70 C.

When you travel to Russia don’t forget about cold winters and be ready to endure Russian winters.
